That is a Hindu saying I have always valued, and which has been greatly helpful to me:
“The world is as we are.”
Basically, it says that if I would change my experience of the world, then I must change myself.
That’s pretty much been my experience. And when I look around, it strikes me it’s pretty much the experience of everyone I know. A lot of work, this stuff.
But I haven’t seen any way around it.
